Time is marching on,
It will not wait for me
I’ve fallen so far behind
that i cannot see
Any way to catch up
So I’ll just admit defeat.
Yet another promise
That I didn’t keep.
I will try not to get distracted reading other people’s words before I post my poem.

I am a bit confused, as this is posted at Poets United for the post “Patterns.” No mention of PU, and I am sorry but I’m struggling to see the relationship of this poem to patterns…
Hi Mary, it’s referring to a pattern of behaviour as opposed to a visual pattern.
All right, I see now..sometimes footnotes help a bit. Thank you for the explanation. I know sometimes certain patterns are hard to break!
